To me, the defining moment of the last ten years is 9:03 am EST on Tuesday September 11, 2001. This is when the second plane crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center. This is the moment we know that the United States is under attack. This is the moment that changes the United States forever. Now, because of this moment, we are in war, we are scared of Muslims (not fairy I might add), we are losing our soldiers, we are scared of planes, we hate the Mid-East. Some of us, like myself, are terrified of another attack and have nightmares. Some lost their children, mother, fathers, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, friends. Some must live the rest of their life knowing that their loved one died at the mercy of al-Qaida; that their loved ones had so much life to live; that their husbands will never see their kids grow up. Because of 9/11 we are both united and torn apart. September 11 is the defining moment of this decade.
